In this video, we meet Chreng Bet, an Indigenous Bunong woman, who leads a community-based ecotourism initiative at Cambodia’s Leng Kao Waterfall. The Keo Seima Carbon Offset Project collaborated with the community to establish this new site, providing funding and technical support to open it to visitors.

Now, the site welcomes guests with guided treks, a scenic waterfall, Bunong cultural experiences, local food, and homestays. Bet explains how conserving Keo Seima’s ecosystems generates income for her community through ecotourism. “Without the forest’s natural resources, nobody would visit, and the community wouldn’t earn anything,” she said.

The Leng Kao ecotourism initiative supports the Keo Seima project’s goals to safeguard wildlife and forests by creating sustainable livelihoods, with women such as Bet taking on key leadership roles.

The Keo Seima project is one of the initiatives in our Climate Impact Portfolio, supported by our carbon offset program.
