Meet the Newest Faces of the Heart of St. Kitts Team!

The Heart of St. Kitts Foundation is a travel philanthropy fund established as a collaborative effort between the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism, St. Kitts Sustainable Destination Council, and Sustainable Travel International.

Day in and day out these three ambitious women are helping to make St. Kitts a more sustainable place to live in and experience! Read on to get to know who they are.

Tishauna Syder-Jenkins, Partnership Manager

If there’s anyone that’s proud to be a Kittitian, it’s Tishauna Syder-Jenkins – just ask her and she’ll happily tell you that herself! After a brief stint abroad studying hospitality management at Monroe College in New York, Tishauna returned home and kicked off her career in tourism, eventually landing in her current role at the Heart of St. Kitts Foundation. As Partnership Manager, Tishauna infuses her Kittitian pride into getting the word out about the Foundation’s objectives, creating local partnerships, and organizing outreach events. Tishauna possesses a personal passion for St. Kitts’ cultural heritage and is excited to be involved in an organization that is helping to pass it down to future generations. Tishauna also serves a dual role as the Events Specialist for the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism, where she helps plan major events such as St. Kitts Music Festival and St. Kitts & Nevis Restaurant Week. In her free time, she enjoys having family game nights with her siblings, or watching a good movie.

Johneal Harvey, Communications & Marketing Manager

With a passion for protecting and promoting her homeland, it comes as no surprise that Johneal is one of the newest additions to the Heart of St. Kitts team. Johneal is excited to put her interpersonal skills to work in her role as Communications & Marketing Manager. Johneal is responsible for managing the Foundation’s social media presence and increasing community engagement. After seeing firsthand the harmful impacts that tourism can have on coastal habitats and wildlife, Johneal has developed a special place in her heart for the Foundation’s marine conservation efforts. She channels this enthusiasm into coordinating the Foundation’s Beach Cleanup activities. Johneal also serves a dual role as a Receptionist and Office Assistant for the Ministry of Tourism and studied economics at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. In her free time, Johneal loves letting her creative and adventurous juices flow – and you will most likely find her dancing, listening to music, ziplining, or exploring the outdoors.

Tajuana Douglas, Administration Manager

A native Kittitian, Tajuana can tell you exactly what makes St. Kitts such a unique place – from the island’s rich history to the friendly faces you’ll meet walking down the street. In her role as Administration Manager for the Heart of St. Kitts Foundation, Tajuana has made it her mission to help others also discover what makes St. Kitts so extraordinary. Tajuana provides administrative support for the Heart of St. Kitts team, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She enjoys playing a part in raising awareness and rallying people of different backgrounds around a common cause. Tajuana was most recently responsible for coordinating and conducting outreach as part of the Heart of St. Kitts Week. Tajuana also serves a dual role as a Receptionist and Office Assistant for the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism and possesses a degree in General Studies from Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. Outside the office, you’ll likely find Tajuana wrapped up in a good thriller novel or horror movie, or spending time with her friends.
