Climate Impact Update – Q4 2022

In Q4 2022, our network offset 17,444 metric tons of carbon with us. Read on to discover how these carbon offsets are catalyzing climate action around the world.

We retire carbon credits on a quarterly basis and are committed to providing transparency about the projects supported. Carbon offsets purchased in Q4 of 2022 were distributed across the following portfolio of forestry, energy, and blue carbon projects.

Explore the Projects

Our Q4 2022 carbon offset portfolio was composed of four climate projects: Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve, Madre de Dios Brazil Nuts, San Clemente Hydro Power, and Trocano Araretama Conservation Project.

Read on to learn more about each of these project and how much carbon we offset on behalf of our network.

Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve

  Blue Carbon

  Indonesia

  3,500 MT of CO2 Offset

Safeguards a carbon-rich peat swamp forest that is critical to orangutan conservation and rehabilitation. Without the project, this ecosystem would have been destroyed for palm oil production.

Carbon co2 cloud icon green  1,694 MT of CO2 Offset

Reduces deforestation incited by the construction of a new highway in the Peruvian Amazon. To accomplish this, the project improves forest management and supports sustainable nut harvesting.

San Clemente Hydro Power carbon offset renewable energy project

Co2 cloud icon yellow   7,000 MT of CO2 Offset

Supports the construction and operation of a small-scale hydroelectric plant. By generating renewable energy for the Chilean national grid, the project avoids emissions from fossil fuels.

Protects a vast area of natural forest along one of the Amazon’s largest tributaries. The project addresses key drivers of deforestation such as illegal logging and slash-and-burn agriculture.

Offset Your Carbon Footprint

When you offset carbon with us, you’ll support our portfolio of climate projects. Though particular projects vary from one quarter to the next, our portfolio always includes a mix of forestry, energy, and blue carbon projects.
