With over 18 years of experience working across more than 30 countries, Paloma Zapata has dedicated her career to helping destinations and tourism businesses turn sustainability commitments into practical, on-the-ground action. As CEO of Sustainable Travel International, her work spans sustainable destination planning, carrying capacity and impact management, and climate action, with hands-on experience in nature-based and small island destinations across the Caribbean, Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Latin America.
She also leads the development of technology solutions that make sustainability tools more accessible to the tourism industry, believing that simplicity and reach are just as important as rigor in driving real change.

Ken has held sales and partnership roles in the travel industry since 1992 including stints in travel technology, hotels, and cruise lines. Ken was an early management team member of Viator.com and helped to create not just Viator, but a booming industry in local experiences. Ken was intricately involved in the Viator acquisition by TripAdvisor in 2014 and served as Vice President – Global Business Development in the newly formed TripAdvisor Experiences. Ken also formed Keystone Travel Consultants in 2017 and has advised numerous companies in the tour, activity, and local experiences market.
Ken joined Sustainable Travel International in 2023 to help raise awareness of sustainability and climate action, specifically in the travel industry.

With more than nine years of experience, she has served as a Project Manager, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Consultant, supporting over 200 organizations in transforming sustainability goals into measurable, long-term impact.
At Sustainable Travel International, she is the Membership Program Lead, responsible for shaping the member experience and driving engagement initiatives that empower tourism organizations to advance their climate goals. Her focus is to ensure that members succeed in accelerating their net-zero and sustainability progress through trusted standards, practical training, and a supportive community that moves forward together.

As a carbon analyst, Daniel is responsible for measuring carbon footprints, preparing detailed carbon accounting reports, and managing the organization’s carbon footprinting tools. He also conducts research on global carbon offset projects, assists in vetting and verifying offset projects, and manages data and reporting on carbon offset initiatives.
Throughout his career, Daniel has gained experience in engineering consultancy, research, marketing, data analysis, mathematical modeling, business intelligence, carbon accounting, and carbon credits project assessment. His expertise encompasses data-driven decision-making, emissions accounting, and sustainability initiatives, with a strong foundation in carbon footprint calculations, environmental impact assessments, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
