Projected Annual Emission Reductions: 100,000
The Ningxia Wind Farm consists of 66,750 KW turbines for a maximum power generation capacity of 49.5 MW when fully operational. The project site is located outside of Dundunliang, a 135km distance from Yinchuan in the Ningxia Region of the People’s Republic of China. Annually, the site generates over 100,000 MW .
The Ningxai Yinyi Wind Farm contributes to sustainable development by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through contribution of renewable energy to the Ningxia power grid. This decrease capacity needs of business-as-usual power generation results in average reductions of 34,600 tce of fuel per year responsible for around 352 tonne SO2, 400 tonne NOx, and 480 tonne particulate matter. Additionally the project creates local employment opportunities while working to establish wind as a viable alternative to destructive damming and mining practices.
