Bandirma Wind Farm
February 2013 – March 2013
The Bandirma Wind Farm Project generates a maximum power capacity of 25 MW of renewable electricity when fully operational through the rotation of ten 2.5 MW Wind Turbines. The site was developed by ASMAKİNSAN Temiz Enerji Elektrik Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş and is located Southwest of Bandırma near Bezirci and Çarıkköy in the province of Balıkesir, Turkey. Annually, the site generates around 99,000 MW .
The direct benefits realized from Bandirma increase the amount of renewable clean energy available on the local grid for an ultimate reduction in the emissions of Carbon Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrous Oxides in the region. Additionally, the operation increases economic opportunity to the local community. While the project is not located on any known bird migratory patterns careful monitoring is in place to ensure that environmental issues related to airborne species occurs.
