STEP Eco-Certification Standard
Our globally recognised sustainable tourism standards help businesses integrate sustainable practices into their operations over time. STEP standards also provide a system for monitoring and verifying your efforts, while receiving valuable recognition for your success.
After completing the initial Self-Assessment, you may advance through the program by diving deeper, documenting your progress and applying for advanced certifications. Based on your scores from independent 2nd and 3rd party reviews, you’ll have the opportunity to work your way up from the baseline Bronze award all the way to Silver, Gold and Platinum.

WHAT: Gold standard certification program officially recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council
STEP: Luxury Eco-Certification Standard
WHO: Luxury hotels and properties
WHAT: Sustainability standard designed in partnership with Leading Hotels of the World and Leading Quality Assurance, featuring criteria designed specifically to meet the needs of luxury accommodations.
STEP: Dive Center Standard
WHO: Dive shops and tour operators
WHAT: The only global standard specifically designed to support dive operations, created in partnership with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Ocean First Divers and Scuba Schools International
